RESURGENCE OF THE VALIANT UNIVERSE #1 in September is an epic crossover destined to shake up the lives of the heroes and villains of the Valiant Universe!

Alien Books is set to dramatically alter the Valiant Universe this September beginning with the can't-miss crossover comic book RESURGENCE OF THE VALIANT UNIVERSE #1! Written by the team of co-writers Becky Cloonan and Michael W. Conrad with art by Guillermo Fajardo, the 4-issue mini-series will follow iconic Valiant heroes including X-O Manowar, Bloodshot, Eternal Warrior, Ninjak, Ivar, Rai, Livewire, Faith and more through a world they no longer recognize as the villainous Dr. Silk rewrites the rules of heroism, governance, and death itself.

"RESURGENCE represents a huge moment for both Alien Books and Valiant Comics," explains Alien Books Director Matias Timarchi. "We're adamant about publishing meaningful comics that readers will enjoy and that retailers can feel confident stocking on their shelves. We want everyone to feel excited about reading superhero comics again and RESURGENCE is the first part of our plan to reignite that passion."

Alien Books and Valiant Entertainment's publishing partnership began in 2023 and saw a return of many iconic comic series to comic shops and digital platforms. The 'Road to Resurgence' banner has adorned titles including
X-O MANOWAR INVICTUS and THE VALIANTS as the groundwork for this game-changing crossover event was carefully planned and plotted by the villainous Dr. Silk. All of the planning and machinations come to a head in September as Silk's vision for the future of humanity takes hold and unleashes a threat that will forever change the lives and destinies of the Valiant Universe's heroes.

"Becky Cloonan and Michael W. Conrad are no strangers to the Valiant Universe and have filled RESURGENCE with rewarding moments for long-time readers, while still being accessible to newcomers," adds Alien Books / Valiant Comics Editor-in-Chief Lysa Hawkins. "The Valiant characters deserve a greater spotlight and to be enjoyed by as many fans as possible. RESURGENCE is how we begin to shine a light on the gold within our books."

“RESURGENCE is a non-stop crescendo of action, but to me even more fun than that has been seeing the dynamic character moments play out,” said series co-writer Becky Cloonan. “Not just utilizing their powers, but digging into the history they all have with each other. There's a lot of humor and pathos on top of the incredibly high stakes, with events that will shake the Valiant Universe to its core!”

"I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I didn't know of artist Guillermo Fajardo's work before he started doing covers for Alien Books," said Art Director Martín Casanova. "He's amazed us every step of the way with his dedication and professionalism, both of which make him the perfect fit for a project on the scale of RESURGENCE OF THE VALIANT UNIVERSE. And when we saw how colorist Lautaro Ftuli beautifully completed the opening sequence, we knew we had to share these pages with everyone right away, they are truly epic!"

RESURGENCE OF THE VALIANT UNIVERSE #1 releases September 18 in comic shops nationwide, and will boast an assortment of covers by Guillermo Fajardo, Agustin Alessio, Juan José Ryp, and Mico Suayan.
