The Alien Books & Valiant Comics crossover series is set to conclude in epic fashion while setting the stage for a new era of superhero storytelling.
The heroes of the Valiant Universe must put aside their differences to save the world from Dr. Silk and they’ll need all the help they can get, including an extra issue, to get it done! Alien Books and Valiant Comics are proud to announce that RESURGENCE OF THE VALIANT UNIVERSE will receive an extra-sized FINALE issue in January from series writer Fred Van Lente and artists Diego Giribaldi (NINJAK VS. ROKU) and Tomas Aira.
“The fantastic response to RESURGENCE means we have to really stick the landing,” adds series writer Fred Van Lente. “The Finale one-shot is the extra runway this story deserves--expect shattering changes to pretty much every major Valiant character, and a pretty exciting look into what the future holds for the universe as a whole.”
In addition to FINALE, Fred Van Lente is scripting a special tie-in issue that showcases the brutal showdown between Bloodshot and the cybernetic samurai from the far future, Rai, as they find themselves on opposite sides of the Silk conflict. Featuring artwork by Rodrigo Rocha and Leo Lujan, the epic confrontation is set up in RESURGENCE #2 and will be expanded upon in RESURGENCE OF THE VALIANT UNIVERSE: BLOODSHOT ONE SHOT when it hits shops on January 15th, 2025.
“The battle between Bloodshot and Rai was too spectacular, too bloody, too 'they did what?!?' to contain in a single issue of RESURGENCE, so we had to give it its very own comic,” explains Van Lente. “You’re welcome.”

The double-length RESURGENCE OF THE VALIANT UNIVERSE FINALE one-shot releases in comic shops on January 22, 2025 and will feature a cover by Guillermo Fajardo and variants by Nico Di Mattia and Richard Ortiz. RESURGENCE OF THE VALIANT UNIVERSE: BLOODSHOT goes on sale January 15, 2025. Final orders for both issues are due with comic shop retailers on 12/16.

In RESURGENCE, the heroes of the Valiant Universe are caught off guard as the enigmatic immortal Dr. Silk has amassed immense power and influence through promises of eradicating death and disease. Readers got their first look at the new world order in the premiere issue of the crossover as Silk’s machinations resulted in the resurrection of the long-dead pyrokinetic Psiot Flamingo, the reunion of Gilad and Kay McHenry, and the impact of a deathless society on daily life. With an immense amount of change hitting their world, the heroes find themselves divided as some stand with Silk while others side with Ivar the Timewalker, who is hellbent on stopping the scientist’s plans.
