REAL NAMES: ERIC & WOODROW HENDERSON
Woody was adopted by widower Derek Henderson when he was a child, and spent nine years living with him and adoptive brother Eric. His birth surname is Van Chelton, and he later discovered his biological father had been alive. Woody ran away from the Henderson's house when he was around 16 years old, feeling he was the cause for how the relationship between father and son was strained.
Seven years later, their father's death reunited the brothers. Investigating the suspicious circumstances of his death, a freak accident in their father's laboratory gave them their powers and forced them to stick together or risk disintegrating. The bracelets from the protective suit they were sharing at the time of the explosion are the only thing keeping their atomic structure intact.
When they were children, they accompanied their father to a scientific conference in Texas where Woody befriended a goat that would receive a download of Derek's consciousness. Many years later, they got to spend three days with this past version of their father after the goat "gave birth" to his energy-based body.
When Livewire cut all the power in the country, including the brothers' Quantum Bands, they disintegrated into energy. Instead of dying, they were sent to a dimension of creation known as the "Otherverse". There, they imagined perfect lives: Quantum as a powerful superhero with a wife, Millie, and Woody a popular playboy that goes to therapy with Doctor Cooper. Eventually, Woody's therapist revealed it was all in their heads, and after a brief fight with Eric, an accidental klang sent them back to the real world.
This is when a powerful reality warper called Infomercial entered our reality. G.A.T.E. scientists discovered this was a living embodiment of the Otherverse's limitless creation potential. The brothers eventually sent Infomercial back where he came from, and then they escaped G.A.T.E.'s custody with the help of X-O Manowar.
Brigadier General Capshaw reported receiving emails from Quantum and Woody to work for G.A.T.E. Gen. Capshaw and Woody were the only people registered to be capable of seeing the portals opening to the Faraway before anything crossed over. When Gen. Capshaw dissapeared, Agent Mina kept Woody aboard of B.O.B. and used this ability to help coordinate Unity's efforts around the world, while she sent Quantum to the field.
