REAL NAME: VICTORIA GREAVES-TROTT

ALIASES: Punk Mambo.

ABILITIES: Mastery of Voodoo Rites; limited pasage between realms (using spells and bribing guides).

KNOWN ASSOCIATIONS: Ayezan; the Voodoo loa; Shadowman; Doctor Mirage; Ninjak.

  • Victoria Greaves-Trott was abducted as a teenager in the 1970s, right when she had joined the punk rocker scene. A voodoo priest by the name of Joe Mayhem held youngsters captive to absorb their lifeforce and feed his wanga. Victoria observed his rites and learned her first mystic lessons, until she eventually used that power to escape.

  • Victoria became Punk Mambo, and some years later she exacted revenge on Mayhem, and on the two so-called friends who placed her in his power, leaving them humiliated.

  • At some point she took up residence in the outskirts of New Orleans. She keeps her grounds warded, and it’s been advised to bring offerings with you if you go visiting. Something she can use for her rituals, something she can boil, preferably from a human.

  • Punk Mambo managed to gain control over the voodoo loa of doors and barriers named Ayezan, who she used to open portals to the Deadside. She liaised with MI6 in missions relating to magic, including bringing Ninjak into the Deadside and recovering a missing MI6 tem and an enslaved Shadowman (Magpie at the time, under a curse imposed by Master Darque).

  • A demon known as Uncle Gunnysack kidnapped Ayezan, and a man with no magic called Azaire entrapped the Voodoo Pantheon, forcing Punk Mambo to travel to Haiti to follow their trail and get the loa free.

  • When the Deadside took a physical form and threatened to merge with the living side, Punk Mambo joined the Abettors and Shadowman in the fight. She cast a spell, channeled by Alyssa Myles, to create a temporary new Voodoo Pantheon, as each of them became a host for Baron Samedi (Reese Bellefontaine), Maman Brigitte (Punk Mambo), Papa Legba (Gemma Gracie), Erzulie Dantor (Alyssa), Ogoun (Leonard Verdad), Ayida-Weddo (Zaya Louviere), and Damballah (Elaine McEvoy).

  • The body of the Deadside had stolen the Ring of Solomon from Baron Samedi and had freed Master Darque and his sister Sandria from the Soulside to join her army; but in the final battle, Maman Brigitte/Punk Mambo managed to recover the ring and send them back.

  • Sometime later, the ring was stolen from Punk Mambo during a trip to London.

OTHER DETAILS: Punk angered the voodoo pantheon by controlling Ayezan — typically, loa ride their hosts, a form of possession, not the other way around. Her powers keep her looking young.
