Obadiah was raised as one of the adoptive sons of Congresswoman and Reverend Archer, founders of the Dominion. The Dominion is one of several societies tied to the Sect, an ancient organization dedicated to obtaining an artifact known as the Boon that they believe holds the key to immortality.
The Sect's greatest enemy is known as Armstrong, born Aram Anni-Padda. The Archers upbringing prepared Obadiah to assassinate him.
He has many adoptive siblings, most notably Mary-Maria Archer, who was for a while the leader of the Sisters of Perpetual Darkness, a secret religious order of assassin nuns with ties to the Sect.
After meeting Armstrong, Obadiah realized the immortal was more of an irresponsable drunk than the demon the Dominion made him out to be, so the two teamed up against the Sect.
Archer recently became immortal himself, by the powers of the Boon contained on the last Golden Apple, that Armstrong used to save Obadiah's life.
He was in a romantic relationship with Faith Herbert, but they seem to be on a pause.
He used to have a crush on Mary-Maria.
OTHER DETAILS: Both Obadiah and Mary-Maria have been possessed by the Last Enemy, a sentient equation capable of reprograming host bodies.
