Aram, a.k.a. Armstrong, is an immortal born in the ancient city-state of Ur millennia ago; he and his siblings are the children of the first Geomancer (the eyes and ears of the Earth), Anni. One day, the three brothers — revered as their clan’s warriors and protectors — ventured into a mystical realm known as the Faraway in search of the Boon, an artifact capable of enhancing mind and body that could provide for Ur forever. The Faraway’s Geomancer reluctantly agreed to let the siblings take the Boon, but when the locals gave chase Ivar and Gilad stayed behind to ensure Aram returned home with the device. Consequently, he wasn’t there when Gilad died after crystal stalactites rained down on him.
While grief-stricken, Aram tried to stop Ivar from using the Boon to bring Gilad back to life, but he was too late. Everyone in Ur but the Anni-Padda died that day when the Boon siphoned their life force and re-directed it into Aram, granting him seeming immortality.
Aram has always led a hedonistic lifestyle; though at one point he married (the self-professed Goddess) Andromeda and recently he had a one-night stand with Mary-Maria Archer.
The Sect is an ancient organization funded in Ancient Egypt by ministers of public works, police, treasury, and granaries to study and obtain the Boon. The Sect first became aware of the Boon during the reign of Pharaoh Akhenaten, when Aram (a court poet at the time) designed “The Wheel of Aten” based on what he remembered of it (due to an incident involving time travel, the Boon was actually created based on Aram’s design of the Wheel of Aten, making a stable time loop). The Sect is a collective composed of different organizations and secret societies, like the Dominion, the One-Percent, the Sisters of Perpetual Darkness, and The Null.
Obadiah Archer was trained from a young age by the Sect to assassinate Armstrong, but upon meeting he learnt that his parents weren’t really following the religion he had been taught, but, rather, wanted power for themselves, and they would stop at nothing to attain it, even sacrificing his siblings. Subsequently he teamed up with Armstrong to dismantle the Dominion and the shadowy conspiracy pulling its strings. Currently, Archer is coming to terms with his newfound immortality, gained by using the last Golden Apple, infused with Boon technology. Meanwhile, Armstrong’s own immortality has been waning for some time.
