Aram was born in the ancient city-state of Ur, the second child of the Anni-Padda clan. Ivar was the first, then Aram, then Gilad (Gilly for his siblings) and the youngest was their sister, Vexana. Anni, first Geomancer, Speaker of the Earth, gave them life, and Padda was a warrior originally from the Nergal tribe of death-worshipers.
He was once a skilled warrior, the strongest among his siblings, but he also had the mind of a poet (it is said that he wrote the Epic of Gilgamesh.)
Revered as warriors, protectors of their clan, the brothers decided to venture into a mystical realm known as the Faraway in search of a magical device that could provide for their city forever, the Boon. The local Geomancer reluctantly let the Boon go and Aram was tasked with carrying the heavy device back home. But when the locals gave chase, his brothers stayed behind to ensure the Boon would arrive safely. He wasn't present when Gilad died due to a wood of crystal stalactites raining down on him.
Although he was also stricken by grief, Aram tried to stop Ivar from using the Boon to bring Gilad back to life, but was too late. The entire city died because the Boon syphoned the life-force of everyone but the Anni-Padda siblings, and redirected this life-force into Aram, granting him a seeming immortality.
He's been persecuted by the Sect for several centuries, which recently led him to team up with Obadiah Archer. He has taught Archer about the world, while Archer became a true friend that worries about Armstrong's wanning immortality.
He has always preferred a hedonistic lifestyle. He enjoys a bottle and a fling, although he did marry Andromeda at one point (they were estranged for a long time but he has visited her house in Florida recently). He also had a one-night stand with Mary-Maria Archer.
Among the brothers, Aram's the one that has the best relationship with Vexana. They seem to have been close since childhood.
