REAL NAME: KAY McHENRY

  • Kay McHenry worked as the spokeswoman of Zorn Capital. She had a fierce way with words, doing televised debates about subjects like climate change with the likes of Preston Blaine, President of Greenworks. It was all fabricated for Zorn's interests, and Kay even had a casual relationship with Preston when the cameras went off.

  • Unbeknownst to Kay, Elliot Zorn was actually the leader of nihilistic cult the Null, whose motto is "nothing is forever" and whose mission is slaying the Geomancer, the Speaker of Earth.

  • Following the voice of her dying houseplant, she happened to eavesdropp on a conversation between members of the Sect. With the Boon apparently destroyed, and many of the secret organizations from the Sect wiped out, there was a power vacuum.

  • Kay was find out eavesdropping, and taken to be dumped inside a train-car into the sea outside New York City. Mother Nature intervined to offer her a job as the new Geomancer. After she accepted, she met the protector of the Geomancers, the Eternal Warrior, as well as those (accidentally) responsible for the death of her predecessor, Archer & Armstrong.

  • Although initally on board with her new duties, as the four of them stopped the Null from unleashing the Equation on everyone across the globe, Kay had a hard time accepting her new responsibilities. Armstrong suggested using her P.R. abilities to be the Speaker of the Earth.

  • Debilitated after getting shot at an oil plant of her old employer, Kay came face-to-face with the Immortal Enemy, the slayer of the Geomancers. The Eternal Warrior has failed three times across the centuries in stopping the Immortal Enemy from killing the Geomancers (thus, the three scars on his face). Determined to protect Kay, Gilad asked X-O Manowar for help, and Aric got MI6 to send back up. Bloodshot was tasked with protecting Kay while the rest of Unity fought the Immortal Enemy, but this entity has the power to enthrall people in their worst fears, and the battle was short-lived. Meanwhile, in the little time they spent together, Kay and Ray formed a strong bond based on sharing their lives experiences. When the Immortal Enemy succeded in fataly wounding Kay, she managed to absorb all of Ray's nanites and give him back his humanity.

  • Project Rising Spirit took the Geomancer's body and infused it with nanites, creating Deathmate. She was tested against the Bloodshot Squad at Bloodshot Island, and set loose on NYC alongside the nanite-virus. In the end, Bloodshot managed to talk her down and turned her to his side. She absorbed all the nanites when Ray could no longer do it.

  • Shortly after the sinkholes situation got critical in Washington D.C., Deathmate reappeared, incapacitated General Capshaw and kidnapped Tama, the new Geomancer. Eidolon was sent to bring Bloodshot out of hidding to deal with her.

ALIAS: Geomancer, Deathmate.

ABILITIES: As the Geomancer, she has control over the primal forces of the Earth, and serves as a messanger for its will, beyond the right/wrong concepts of humans.
